Song of The Day

‘Creature’ is Song of the Day over at For Folk’s Sake.
It is the title track of my EP and is a live recording with ex Pulp musician Steven Havenhand on guitar and Lilac Time co-founder Nick Duffy on bass. I am playing Nick’s lovey Wurlitzer and singing about slugs…

One Song Wonder

One Song Wonder is performance project that I am putting in motion at The Penryn Arts Festival which runs from 21-28 July all over the town of Penryn. Taking inspiration from the intimate spaces where I write and rehearse – sheds, garages and bedrooms – I am giving on a series of miniature concerts in a cardboard shed in a former launderette on Penryn High Street. One song. Face to face. No stage or separation. You can come and have a song played just for you on the 24th and 26th July between 3 and 5pm.

Also as part of the festival, I will doing a candlelit performance to launch my second EP, Songs 5-8 Creature, on Saturday 27 July in the launderette at 8.30pm. Band member and virtuoso guitarist Jamie Matthews will be doing a solo support act.

Address – 22 Lower Market Street, Penryn, Cornwall, TR10 8BG
Saturday July 27th at 8pm.

‘Songs 5-8 Creature’ New EP out on 12 July

Some exciting things are happening at my end of the woods. The second EP in the series ‘Songs 5-8 Creature’ is being released in only 10 days! Woohoo. It will be available as a digital download on iTunes, Amazon and a host of other digital stores. The iTunes version comes complete with digi-booklet which contains the song lyrics and some of the stories behind the songs.

Meanwhile I am hand making the physical copies. There will be a limited edition of 100 with original artwork by illustrator Emily Sams printed on recycled card. Included is an illustrated A4 insert with a story about my unlikely discovery of Emily who has been busy painting enormous murals in Kathmandu. She is an amazing artist.

The handmade cds will be available on 27th July from my Bandcamp page and to launch them I will be doing a series of performances in a former launderette in Penryn as part of the Penryn Arts Festival including a candle lit concert on the 27th. There will more information about my gigs on my Facebook page.
